Sam R. Young

April 19, 1945 ~ December 23, 2025

Sam R. Young, 80 years old, passed away at 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Signature Health Care, Bremen, IN.  Sam was born on April 19, 1945 in Dyersburg, TN to the late Sam Brooks and Agnes Lenez (Fisher) Young.  He has lived in the South Bend area since the 1950’s.  Sam retired in 2013 from Ridge Auto Parts.  He served his country with the United States Air Force.

Sam is survived by his two children, Sam and Joan; two sisters, Vicki (John) Bachmann and Kay (Ric) Patterson; and two brothers, Alan (Beth) Young and Terry Young.  Along with his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Young.

A private burial will be held in the veteran’s section at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend is assisting the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory Sam may be donated to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
