Grace R. (D'Angelo) Lackner

SOUTH BEND - Grace R. Lackner, 85, passed away at 1:55 pm Thursday, November 27, 2014, in Memorial Hospital. Grace was born on November 28, 1928, in South Bend, to Frank and Elizabeth (Merlo) Dangelo. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, was an avid Notre Dame football fan and loved cake decorating.

On August 16, 1952, in South Bend, she married Steve L. Lackner. He died on February 26, 2006. Grace was also preceded in death by a sister, Rose Glenn, and three brothers, Joseph Dangelo, Patrick Dangelo and Victor Pellico.

Surviving are a daughter, Susan (Michael) Prister of South Bend; a son, Larry (Luann) Lackner of South Bend; and 5 grandchildren, Adam Prister, Justin Prister, Greg Lackner, Ryan Lackner and Lori Lackner.

Grace's family would like to extend a special thank you to her devoted caregivers, Myrna and Margo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at St. Jude Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4-8 Monday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at 4:00 pm.
