Carl August Engstrom

SOUTH BEND - Services for Carl A. Engstrom , 66, of Eckman Street, who died at 10:13 p.m. Wednesday in Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center after an illness, will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Calvary Temple Church. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.

Mr. Engstrom retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier and in 1983 from R & R Regulator as a supervisor. He was born Aug. 28, 1927, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident.

On May 19, 1951, in South Bend, he married Ruth "Jo" Swisher. She survives with three daughters, Karen Wisniewski of Bloomington, Ind., Jan Enyeart of South Bend, and Betty Jones of Coral Springs, Fla.; four grandchildren; and a brother, Rev. Edward of Anderson, Ind.

He was a member of the church, National Association of Letter Carriers, and a veteran of World War II.
