Phyllis A. (Sloan) Laffoon

SOUTH BEND Phyllis A. Laffoon, 65, of White Maple Court. died Friday in Memorial Hospital after an illness. Mrs. Laffoon was born March 22. 1928. in South Bend. and was a, lifelong area resident.

On March 27. 1948. in South Bend. she married Robert E. Laffoon. He died in 1990.

She is survived by a daughter, Cheri Poland of Herndon. Va.: four sons. Robert and Kent. both of Plymouth, Craig of Phoenix and Gary of South Bend; and seven grandchildren.

She was a volunteer at Leighton Center for Senior Citizens and member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home North. 17033 Cleveland Road, where parish rosary will be said at 4:30 p.m.
