Ronald Lee Van Avermaete

Services for Ronald L. Van Avermaete, 52, of 1718 E. Donald St., who died at 7:04 a.m. Monday in St Joseph’s Medical Center after an illness, will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday in Hahn’s DeVos Funeral Home in Mishawaka. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
Mr Van Avermaete was an electrician with Mead and White Electric Co., Bridgman. He was born Sept. 1, 1935, in Mishawaka, and was a lifetime area resident.
On April 28, 1956, in Mishawaka, he married the former Roberta “Bobbie” Sherman. She survives with two daughters, Laura Singleton of South Bend and Rhonda L. Van Avermaete, at home; a son, Jeff of South Bend; a grandchild; a brother, David of Freemont, Calif.; and his parents, Weis and Cindy Van Avermaete of Mishawaka.
Mr. Van Avermaete belonged to the Michiana Bowlers Association, the Chippewa Classic League, the Mishawaka Classic League and Local 153 of the International Brotherhood of Electricial Workers.
He was a veteran of the Indiana National Guard.
