Major George Allen Osmer
December 1, 1951 — March 24, 2021
George Allen Osmer, formerly of South Bend, unexpectedly passed away in his home in Kansas City, on March 24, 2021 at the age of 69.
George was born to the late, Thomas Leonard and Margaret Osmer in South Bend on December 1, 1951. George graduated from Riley High and obtained is degree at the University of Kansas.
George enlisted in the Marine Corps and moved up the ranks and obtained his commission as an officer and retired as a Major in 1991. Upon his retirement George worked for Computer Science Corporation as a contractor until his retirement from that job. His family was always proud of his accomplishment as a "mustang" in the Marine Corp, served his country honorably with numerous decorations.
He is survived by three brothers all who reside in South Bend, Thomas(Suzanne), James, and John and Sister in Law Julie Osmer, three nieces and nephews, Dakota of South Bend, Thomas Jr. (Kimberly) of Osceola, and Kimberly Butrick (James) of Cassopolis, Michigan and numerous extended family members.
As his request George will have a full military burial at Fort Leavenworth military cemetery in Kansas.
