November 22, 1937 ~ August 23, 2025
Mary Louise Hawley, 87, peacefully departed this life on August 23, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones in Granger, IN. She was born on November 22, 1937, in South Bend, IN, to the late Marie (Vahanick) Carroll.
Mary married the love of her life, William J. Hawley, who preceded her in death October 29, 2020, and together they embarked on a lifelong journey of love and family, leaving behind a legacy rich with memories and values. Mary's greatest pride and joy were her sons, Daniel J. (Paula) Hawley of Granger, IN, Brian W. (Michelle) Hawley of Oswego, IL, and Brent A. (Bethany) Hawley of Elkhart, IN.
Her eight grandchildren kept her heart young and her days full. Her life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family ties. Mary, also known as Buzzy, had a love of life, compassion, laughter, and enjoyment of golf, pickleball and dancing that will surely be remembered.
Mary was predeceased by her brothers; John W., Charles, Robert, Eugene, and Donald Carroll; her sisters, Ruth Ann Carroll and Patricia Rulli (Carroll), her memory will be warmly cherished by her sisters-in-law and brother-in law; Rosemary Carroll (Laskowski), Rita Jane Carroll (Futa), Juanita Hawley (Denny Grey), of South Bend, IN and Jim (Wendy) Hawley of Rock Hill, SC. and many nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held at 3pm Friday, September 5, 2025 at Palmer Funeral Home ~ Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635 with a visitation 2 hours prior at the funeral home.
