Barbara J. (Sommer) Zeigert

SOUTH BEND - Barbara Jane Zeigert, 58, of Lucinda Street, died at 11:45 a.m. Saturday in her home of an illness. Mrs.Zeigert retired from Westfield Insurance Co. in 1992 as a secretary. She was born Oct. 16, 1934, in South Bend. On June 7, 1957, in South Bend, as Barbara Sommer, she married Jack Zeigert.

He survives with two sons, Greg of Elkhart and Michael of Niles; grandchildren; a half sister, 'Susan® Sommer of Nashua, N.H.; a stepbrother, Thomas Henson of Boise, Idaho; and her stepmother, Betty Sommer of South Bend.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Hospice of St. Joseph County.
