Martha Rae (Boggs) Dose

Martha R. Dose, 62, of Crystal Lake, Ill., died on Tuesday, June 1. She was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and then resided at The Fountains, Crystal Lake, where she died.

She was born in South Bend, Ind., on Jan 5, 1937, to Inez Ruth and Orlow Raymond Boggs. She married Lt. Frederick F. Dose, USAF, on June 18, 1960. They settled in Crystal Lake in 1966 with their children, Kathleen and Cynthia.

She taught art at Lundahl Junior High School upon first arriving in Crystal Lake. She was active in bowling leagues, was an avid gardener and an avid traveler. Most recently she was a volunteer assistant at the Crystal Lake Ambutal, and worked at Jerry's Hallmark. Martha graduated from Riley High School in South Bend in 1955, then went on to graduate from Indiana University with a degree in education in 1959. Besides her husband of 38 years, Mrs.

Dose is survived by her daughter, Kathleen; son-inlaw, Jeff Koehl and their children, Meredith, Lauren and Adam of Saint Charles, III.; and her daughter, Cynthia, son-in-law, Jeff Schrader, and their child, Gavin of Champaign, Ill. She also had two very much loved and loyal dogs, Maxine and Katie. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, June 4, with a funeral service and eulogy to begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Skaja Bachmann Funeral Home, 7715 Route 14, Crystal Lake.

A short graveside service will be held at noon on Saturday, June 5, at New Oak Hills Cemetery in South Plymouth, Ind. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, Inc., or to Helping Paws.
