Carole Lynn (Walz) Prawat passed away on March 21, 2025, in Greenwood, Indiana. She was born on August 1, 1937, in South Bend, Indiana. She graduated from Riley High School, South Bend, Indiana in 1955 where she was a second-generation cheerleader and played violin as a member of the school orchestra. She attended Purdue University for two years before she married James S. Prawat on January 25, 1958. Carole lived a full and meaningful life surrounded by family and the activities they loved.

She was happily married for 67 years to Dr. James S. Prawat, DDS, MSD. Carole was the loving mother of Steven, Dr. Scott DDS and children Danielle and Juliette, Stephanie (Todd) and children Brandon (Sara), Ashley, David and Christopher, Suzan (John) and children Austin, Brittany (Thomas) and Connor, Stuart (Aimee) and children Lillian, Chloe and Natalie, and Stacey (Michael) and children Caden, Samantha, Taylor and Elise. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Hannah, Noah, Madelyn and Jude. Her family was central to her life, and she took great pride in their accomplishments and happiness.

Carole was the office manager of her husband's dental office in Okanogan, Washington and later in his orthodontic office in Richmond, Indiana. Theirs was truly a partnership in marriage and work.

Carole believed in community service. While living in Okanogan, Washington she ran for city mayor, but was not elected. She channeled that loss by becoming a founding member and first president of the Sunny Okanogan Festival Association (SOFA), an organization dedicated to promoting Sunny Okanogan Days, a weeklong festival in Okanogan, Washington showcasing the city and area. She organized and planned the first annual event which included a parade, food vendors, high school marching band performance and a foot race in which team contestants pushed a sofa bed on wheels through an obstacle course.

Throughout her life, Carole found joy in many hobbies. She had a passion for college football, especially Purdue, camping and loved to travel. Even though she worked, she always found time to be a homemaker. Her creativity shone through in sewing projects and baking endeavors. Carole also enjoyed making candy and sharing sweet treats with those around her. Watching classic movies was another favorite pastime that brought her relaxation and entertainment.

Carole is preceded in death by her parents Urah Emmagene (Ullrey) and J. Woodrow Walz, Sr. She is survived by her sister Linda (Kring) and her brother J. Woodrow Walz, Jr.

A viewing will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East, located at 10722 East Washington Street in Indianapolis, Indiana from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
