Dec. 21, 1967 - June 26, 1999

RaMal LaMar Garab, 31, devoted husband, father, and son of East Altgeld Street, South Bend, Ind., died of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, June 26, in Memorial Hospital.

RaMal was born on Dec. 21, 1967, in South Bend, to LaMar and Mary (Schell) Garab, and was a lifetime resident of South Bend.

On April 24, 1993, in South Bend, he married Stormi Heilman. He is survived by his wife, Stormi (Heilman) Garab; two daughters, Kassandra Louise Garab and Kerragan Marie Garab, both at home; his parents of Mt. Home, Ark.; two sisters, MarLa Kathleen (Alan) Herrmann of Mt. Home and Debra Jean (Michael) Suntken of Springdale, Ark.; and by his paternal grandmother, Esther C. Garab of Mt. Home.

RaMal is also survived by five nieces and eight nephews; his brother-in-law, John Wojciechow-ski of South Bend; his in-laws, Donald A. and Carol Heilman, Jr., David S. and Dawn Heilman, and Wendi and Chuck Lee, all of South Bend, and Donald L. Heilman of Mishawaka, Ind.; and by his lifetime best friend, Navy partner, and best man in his wedding, Jerry Walker of South Bend.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Charmay Elizabeth Wojciechowski.

RaMal was owner and operator of Positive Improvements. He graduated from Riley High School where he was a member of the Riley swim team.

He had a host of friends and would bend over backwards to help anyone. Even in death, he helped save the lives of people by being an organ donor.

Funeral services for RaMal L. Garab will be held at 11 a.m. today, June 29, in the Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, with Rev. Mike Mather officiating. Cremation will take place after services.

His family received relatives and friends on Monday.

Contributions may be made to the Garab Children's Memorial Fund, in care of Teacher's Credit Union.
