Lois A. Hathaway

Lois A. Hathaway, 78, of South Bend, Indiana, died at 7:54 a.m. Saturday, November 4, in Memorial Hospital. Lois was born November 3, 1928, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late William C.and Lucy B.(Emmons) Hathaway.

She is survived by a son, Jeff D.(Kim) Hathaway of Mishawaka, Indiana; three grandchildren, Justin (Autumn) Hathaway of South Bend, Jeremy (Summer) Hathaway of South Bend and Nicholas Hathaway of Mishawaka; a great-grandson, Alec Hathaway of South Bend; three sisters, Virginia Downey, Betty McCune and Frances Hedl, all of South Bend; and her beloved dog, “Lacy.”

Lois had worked as a telephone operator for Indiana Bell from 1947, retiring in 1983.Lois enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and grandson, working on her lawn, crossword puzzles, and watching Notre Dame football games.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2006, at Highland Cemetery (graveside), 2257 N.Portage Ave., South Bend, with Rev. Gregory Timmons officiating. There will be no visitation. In Lois’s memory, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 601 W. Edison Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
