Olga Mildred Matijevich, 93, of Parkland, Florida, formerly of Hollywood, FL, passed away on April 3, 2023, from natural causes.
The funeral service will be held at noon, April 7, 2023, at St. Simeon Serbian Orthodox Church, 175 NW 154th Street, Miami, FL 33169. Father Milan Krstic will be officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at Hollywood Memorial Gardens at 1:30 PM. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Fred Hunter Funeral Home in Hollywood.
Olga was born in South Bend, Indiana, on August 11, 1929. She graduated from Riley High School and then worked as a secretary at Associates.
Olga was married to Rudy Matijevich on November 2, 1958; they were married for 36 years.
Olga worked as a Reservation Manager for the Thunderbird Hotel in Miami Beach until she retired. She loved the Serbian culture, traveling to Park City with family and all her church family. She always looked forward to her weekly hair appointment at the "beauty parlor". She enjoyed old movies, reading the newspaper and sitting in the sun. She was also actively involved in the St Simeon Serbian Church, singing in the choir, volunteering with the sisterhood, helping in the kitchen, and prepping for weekly or annual church festivities. Olga and Rudy were founding members of St. Simeon Serbian Church.
Olga is survived by daughter, Patty Pugliese (Frank), granddaughter Lauren and great-grandson Brooks, and other family and friends.
Olga is preceded in death by her husband, Rudy, two brothers, Sam and John Kosanovich, and her parents Peter and Elsie Kosanovich.
