James R. Kraft

James Russell Kraft, 73, of South Bend, Ind., and of Bayonet Point, Fla., passed away on Dec. 10, in the Bayonet Point Medical Center. He was born on Aug. 11, 1929 to Paul and Louise (Kalisz) Kraft. In 1947 he graduated from Riley High School.

On March 1, 1952 he married the former Carol McEndarfer. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary earlier this year.

James was an Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. After his discharge, he began his career with the United States Postal Service. He retired from the South Bend downtown office after 39 years. James enjoyed traveling, gardening, and most of all, get together's with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Kraft; two daughters, Debra Juleen (Russell) of Carmel, Ind., and Sharon McKibbin (Charles) of Goshen, Ind.; is sister, A. Virginia Ryan (William) of Bayonet Point and Bloomington, Ind.; five grandchildren, Mark Juleen (Allison) of Chicago, Ill., Steve Juleen of Carmel, Ind., Stacey McKibbin of Elkhart, Ind., Christopher McKibbin of Lafayette, Ind., and Kyle McKibbin of Goshen; his niece, Susan Steely of Los Angeles, Calif.; three grandnieces and four grand nephews.

James was preceded in death by his nephew, Patrick Ryan. Patrick's wife, Marilyn, survives.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16 in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, with burial following in Highland Cemetery. Rev. David Hudson will officiate. Family and friends may call from noon until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of James R.
