Lillian (Weiss) Roland

March 3, 1929 – March 5, 2006

Lillian Weiss Roland, 77, of South Bend, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2006, in Memorial Hospital. Born March 3, 1929, in South Bend, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Esther Weiss.

On April 20, 1952, she married Harvey Roland, who passed away in 2002. Lillian was the youngest of eight and was preceded in death by six of her siblings.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra L. Roland-Hall of South Bend and Vicki C. Roland of Grand Island, NY; two sons, Scott S. (Shoshana) Roland of Indianapolis and James E. (Veronica) Roland of Houston, TX; a sister, Lee Schafer of Los Angeles, CA; and six grandchildren, Hillary and Ethan Hall, Adi, Michelle, Todd and Alondra Roland.

Lillian was a very loving mother, wife and grandmother. She will be remembered for her generosity, bright personality, and her great sense of humor. She was a master bridge player, and taught her skills to others. She was a member and leader of several organizations, including Hadassah, B’nai Brith Women, and was active at Sinai Synagogue.

A funeral service will be held today, March 7, 2006, at 3:30 p.m. in the McGann Hay, Forest G. Hay Funeral Home.
