Larmen Lawrence Barrett age 88 of Clinton Township and formerly of Evart Michigan died Saturday May 5, 2012 at McLaren-Macomb Hospital in Mount Clemens Michigan. Larmen was born June 12, 1923, the son of the late Larmen Barrett and the late Marguerite (nee: Claeys) Barrett in South Bend Indiana.

Larmen was raised in South Bend and graduated from Riley High School. He served his country during World War II in the United States Marine Corps.

Following his military service he began working with Studebaker Automobile in South Bend and later worked for various automotive suppliers before retiring from Kelsey-Hayes Motor Wheel in Romulus as a plant manager. When Mr. Barrett was not working he and his family enjoyed snowmobiling, bowling, golfing, hunting and fishing. Larmen and his wife retired to Northern Michigan, living in Evart since 1982 before moving back down state to Clinton Township in 2010.

Larmen was the beloved husband of Cornelia, and the dear father of Gary (Gail) Barrett, Craig Barrett, Kevin Barrett, Michael (April) Barrett, Cheryl (George) Noordhoek, and the late Carol Ann Barrett, and the late Janice Wozniak. Larmen is also survived by his brother in-law Jerome Sharafinski and eight grandchildren, Denise, Keith, Ryan, Troy, Mark, Nicole, Kyle, and Talor.

Visitation for Mr. Barrett will be Tuesday from 3-9pm, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ' Mile Rd). Mr. Barrett will lie in state Wednesday 9:00am at St. Martin dePorres Catholic Church, until the time of Funeral Mass 9:30am. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will Rev. Fr. Roman Pasieczny.
