Monna Y. (Bowlin) Sheetz

Monna Y. Sheetz, 77, residing in Columbus, Ohio, formerly of South Bend, Ind., passed away at 4:10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, in Karrington of Gahanna, Columbus.

Mrs. Sheetz was born on Jan. 1, 1923, in South Bend, to the late Harry and Mary (Anderson) Bowlin, had been a lifelong resident until moving to Columbus March 1999. On May 6, 1961, in South Bend, she was married to Richard D. Sheetz, who passed away on Jan. 9, 1998. She was also preceded in death by a brother Max Robert Bowlin.

She is survived by a daughter, Vicki E. Riedel of Farmington Hills, Mich.; a son, Daniel R. (Linda) Jones of Canal Winchester, Ohio; two stepsons, Vince S. Sheetz of New Orleans, La., and Kent D. Sheets of Las Vegas, Nev.; seven grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren; and by a brother, James Bowlin of Woodlands, Texas.

Mrs. Sheetz was employed for years as a secretary for the Uniroyal Corporation in Mishawaka, Ind. She was a member of the River Park United Methodist Church, Theta Phi Circle, and Rebekah Lodge of South Bend.

Services for Mrs. Sheets will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, in River Park United Methodist Church, 920 South 23rd Street, South Bend. Rev. Phil Abram, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., and hour prior to services in the church on Saturday.
