John W. Hopewell

SOUTH BEND - John W. Hopewell, 69, of Palm Harbor, Fla., formerly of South Bend, died Saturday in his home after an illness. Mr. Hopewell retired from Federal Bryant Machinery Co. He was born Sept. 19, 1923, in Merom, Ind., and lived in South Bend until moving to Florida five years ago.

In South Bend, he married Delores Cook. She survives with two daughters, Judy Mackowiak of Fort Wayne and Nancy Bartosiak of Edwardsburg; a son, Brian of Suamaco, Wis.; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Sara Hadary of South Bend.

He was a former member of St. Jude's Catholic Church.

Memorial services will be conducted Saturday in Curlew Hills Funeral Home, Palm Harbor. Cremation will take place. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity.
