Joseph P. Pallatin

March 17, 1923 – Nov. 15, 2003 Joseph P. Pallatin, 80, of Kendall Street, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov.15, in his residence. Mr.Pallatin retired from Preston’s and was the former owner of Barb & Joe’s Tavern on Franklin Street.Joseph was a 1941 graduate of Riley High School and was a World War II Navy veteran, honorably discharged in 1945. Joe was born on March 17, 1923, in South Bend, Ind., to Thomas and Katherine (Keglovich) Pallatin.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, and by two brothers, Thomas J.Pallatin and John Pallatin.

On July 14, 1951, in South Bend, he married the former Barbara J. Dibble, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter Pamela (Mark) Rutkowski of Fishers, Ind.; two sons, Thomas M.(Kathy) Pallatin of Troutman, N.C., and William “Bemo” Pallatin of South Bend; four grandchildren, Jenica L. Wonisch of Orlando, Fla., Taylor Pallatin and Jacob Pallatin, both of South Bend, and Nathan Rutkowski of Fishers; two great- grandchildren, Brianna and Camaryn; and by a sister, Agnes Sednik of Niles, Mich.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov.19, in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m.today, Nov.18
