Rosemarie (Pilsitz) Smith

Rosemarie Smith, age 92, of Woodbury, NJ, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2015.

Legacy
She was born in Harrisburg, PA and spent most of her early life in Indiana and Ohio before moving to West Deptford, NJ in 1968. Rosie graduated in 1945 from Indiana State University with a degree in education. While pursuing her degree at Indiana State she worked as the secretary for The Dean of Women. She met her husband of sity-one years, Joseph Smith, at a USO dance in 1943. They were married in February 1947 and together raised 5 children. Mrs. Smith returned to college and received her Master’s Degree in English Literature from Glassboro State University. Throughout her career she worked as a teacher and an adjunct professor at Camden County College. She was very active and involved during her lifetime, volunteering for over 20 years at Underwood Memorial Hospital and a member of numerous others organizations.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph M. Smith in 2008; Devoted mother of Cynthia Fanslau (Rick), David Smith (Leslie), Michael John Smith (Sandy), Daniel Smith (Arlene), and Mary McElroy (John); Cherished grandmother of Megan, Natalie, Rachel, Molly, Daniel, Bryce, Blythe, Jonah, Summer, Promise, Noah, Danielle, Shawn, Brendan, and Bridget; Adored great grandmother of Annabel, Benjamin, and Nola.
