Carl Robert Swanson, Jr., aged 26, of 819 East Fox street, died at 8:40 p. m. Friday in his residence. He had been ill since July, 1945 with a rheumatic heart condition. He was born in South Bend, Oct. 29, 1921, born and spent his entire life here.

Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Robert Swanson, South Bend; stepbrother, Donald R. Swanson, of Mishawaka, and a step sister. Mrs. Lois A. Beebe, of Dallas, Texas.

Friends. may call in the residence until 10 a. m. Tuesday when the body will be taken to the Russell chapel to lie from noon until funeral services there at 2:30 p. m. Rev. Earl R. Mattson, pastor of the Gloria Del Lutheran church, will officiate.

Burial will be in Highland cemetery. He was veteran. of world war II and a member of the South Bend post No. 1167, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
