William Arthur Berger

William A. Berger, 69, of 53130 Bower Crest Court, died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in his home after an illness. Mr. Berger retired from Kreamo Bakery in 1980 after 20 years of service and was a former employee of Reliable Dairy. He was born April 20, 1918, in South Bend.
On Nov. 21, 1940, in Angola, Ind., he married Margaret F. Morse, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Kathleen A. Cartwright, of South Bend; a son, Michael W., of Goshen; two grandchildren; a sister, Sara Bartlett, of Bethel Park, Pa.; and two brothers, Bruce H. of Granger and James R. of Jacksonville, Fla.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Welsheimer Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Burial will be at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was a member of American Legion Post 303 and St. Joseph Lodge 45 F & AM, and was a veteran of World War II. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation.
