Robert Melvin Boyer

LEXINGTON - Robert M. Boyer, 57, assistant to the dean and director of fiscal affairs for the University of Kentucky College of Arts and Sciences, died yesterday at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington. Boyer came to the university in 1951 as manager of laboratories in the Chemistry Department. He was a former president of the Kentucky Academy of Science and former director of the Kentucky Junior Academy of Science. He was a native of Logansport, Ind.

He received a master's degree in biochemistry from Indiana University in 1948.

His wife, Mrs. Rosemary Kent Boyer, survives.

The body will be at Milward-Southland Funeral Home here.

BOYER. Robert M, 57, husband of Mrs. Rosemary Kent Boyer. 301 CrilIon Drive. died at Good Samaritan Hospital at 230 p.m Sunday. following a short illness. He was an assistant to the Dean of the College of Arts and Science of the University of Kentucky and had been associated with the University for the past twenty - five years. He was a native of Logansport. Ind.. a son of the late Edward R and Carrie Boyer. He received his B.S. and MS. Degrees from Indiana University and had worked toward a Doctorate at the University of Texas. He was a member of Maxvre0 Street Presbyterian Church, Retired Officers AMOCIE)00, [axing-ton 1-101111 Cub, Blue Grass Rock Club. past president of the local chapter of the American Chemical Society, charter member of the Lexington Singers, a former Mason and member of Spindletop Hall. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and a recipient of the Purple Heart. 

Survivors other than his wife include a number of aunts and uncles.
