SOUTH BEND - John J. Jessup of Portage, Mich., formerly of South' Bend, died Thursday in his home. Mr. Jessup retired as vice president of Dormeyer Industries, Chicago. He was born April 16, 1918, in South Bend.

He is survived by his wife, Dortha "Jeanne" Jessup; four sons, Larry Williams of South Bend, John Jessup III of San Diego and Douglas Williams and Todd Jessup, both of Grand Rapids; four daughters, Lora Koons of Mentor, Ohio, JoAnne Jessup of Kalamazoo, Janice Donahue of Grand Rapids and Judith Kazkowski of Chicago; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Verne of South Bend, Maurice of Bloomington, Ind., and Eugene of Neenah, Wis.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Faith Reformed Church, Portage. Avink Funeral Home, Schoolcraft, Mich., is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Greater Kalamazoo.
