Basil A. Lawson
SOUTH BEND - A memorial service for Basil A. Lawson, 70, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of South Bend, who died at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 22, 1990, at St. Mary's Hospice, Tucson, following an illness, was held Feb. 8 at Tucson Elks Lodge No. 385. Cremation has taken place at the Valley Funeral Home, Tucson. Mr. Lawson retired from Studebaker Corp. He was born July 17, 1919, in Jasonville, Ind.
He married Eileen Herron. She survives along with a son, Chris of Tucson; three grandchildren; two half brothers, Barry Rex and Doug Ray, both of South Bend; and a stepmother, Joyce Lawson of South Bend. A son, Allen, preceded him in death.
He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was an exalted ruler of the Tucson Elks Lodge and a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 4903 of Tucson.
