Doris Marie (Place) May

MICHIGAN CITY  Doris M. - May, 61, formerly of 223 Barker, died at 2:50 a.m. Thursday in the Woodview Rehabilitation Center, Michigan City, after a two-month illness. She was born on Oct. 4, 1918, in Buchanan. She lived in South Bend before moving to Michigan City 12 years ago.

She married Carl J. May South Bend on Aug. 30, 1941. He died in 1976.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mardelle A. Swanson of Michigan City and Mrs. Susan Hauser of South Bend; four grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Mardelle Hoover of St. Joseph, Mich.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood, South Bend. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was the owner/manager of the Snelling-Snelling Employment Agency in Michigan City.

Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Michigan City
