SOUTH BEND - Edward C. Stanley, 80, of Bethlehem, Pa., formerly of South Bend, Ind., died on Saturday, Aug. 30, in the Phoebe Home of Allentown, Pa. He was born on Oct. 17, 1916, in South Bend.

On July 21, 1946, in South Bend, he married DeMaris E. Troyer, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Rebecca Ann Kesselring of Bethlehem, Pa., and Cynthia E. Kozlowski of Mishawaka, Ind.; three sons, Robert T. Stanley of Deerfield Beach, Fla., Jon E. Stanley of South Bend and Brian K. Stanley of Terre Haute, Ind.; five grandchildren; one greatgranddaughter; a sister, Violet Eller of Wheat Ridge, Colo.; and by a brother, Harold H. Stanley of Berrien Center, Mich.

Mr. Stanley retired in 1975 from R.E.A. Express where he was a manager in Indiana and Ohio. He had worked for them for 34 years.

He was a graduate of Riley High School and was a World War Il Army veteran. He was a member of the Bethany United Church of Christ in Bethlehem.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street. Friends may call from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery where military gravesite rites will be conducted.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Music Memorial Fund of the Bethany United Church of Christ, Fifth Avenue and Market Street, Bethlehem, PA; or to the Alzheimer's Association, 100 N. 17th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
