George W. Warner, Jr

George W. Warner, 86, of Elm Road, Mishawaka, In., died at 4:10 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2002, in Hospice House of St. Joseph County. He was born on November 12, 1915, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to George W. and Margaret (Peach) Warner Sr.
On August 5, 1938, in Plymouth, Indiana, he married Janet M. Guard, she died on November 19, 2000. Also preceding in death were his daughter, Marsha Holcomb in 1998; his three sisters, Thelma Pauline, Ruth Springmann, and Helen Akers; two brothers, Sam Warner and Lewis Warner; and his grandson, Michael Warner who preceded in death on July 27, 2001.
George is survived by his son, George "Bill" (Edie) Warner of Mishawaka and by three grandchildren, Kim (Darren) DeWitt of Osceola, IN, Scott (Stacie) Warner of Torrance, CA., and Dana (Curt) Martin of Osceola, IN. Also surviving are twelve great grandchildren, Darrick DeWitt, Carl Case, Kyle DeWitt, Taylor Loftus, Allen Martin, Renae Martin, Caitlin Bamberlin, Allison Warner, Gabrielle Warner, Beau Waldron, Bryton Warner, Jacob Hedden; two step-grandchildren, Heather Loftus and Michael (Amber) Hedden and by his sonin-law, Larry Holcomb of Osceola, IN.
George, a lifelong printer, began his career with Art Craft Printing in South Bend and then Ave Maria Printing at the University of Notre Dame and later started his own printing company called "Warner the Printer."
An avid fisherman, George was a member of Michiana Steelheaders. He was a lifetime member of the F.O.P. and a charter member of Penn South Fire Department. In his early years he was a scout leader in Cub and Boy Scouts. George served his country during World War Il in the U.S. Army
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, February 11, 2002, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 1109 Lincolnway West, Osceola, IN.el with Rev. Jeff Marshall officiating Interment will follow in Southlawt Cemetery, South Bend, IN. Friends may call on Sunday fron 2 to 6 p.m. in the funeral home.
