Norma (Wolfe) Davitt

Feb. 1, 1918- July 17, 2005

Norma Wolfe Davitt, 87, longtime resident of South Bend, IN, passed away in Harrison Hospital, Bremerton, WA, on July 17, 2005, of congestive heart failure. Norma was a 1936 graduate of Riley High School.

On September 24, 1938, she married William Davitt, who died in November 1995.

Norma retired from the University of Notre Dame in 1983 after 18 years as an administrative assistant. She was a charter member of the St. Joseph Valley Watercolor Society and past president of Northern Indiana Artists, Inc., with a lifetime membership.

Norma's son Michael died in April 2005 of cancer.

Norma is survived by her daughter, Eileen of Port Orchard, WA; and her grandchildren, Justin and Kathleen Rider of Woodinville, WA. Cremation took place in Port Orchard, WA, on July 25.

Her daughter will be transporting Norma's ashes for burial at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, IN. A small graveside service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23, at 10 a.m. Norma Davitt will be buried beside her husband on the 67th anniversary of their wedding
