George F. Martin

ROCHESTER George F. "Buzz" Martin, 68, of 347 W. Olson Road, died at 9:45 a.m. Friday in Life Care Center after an illness. Mr. Martin retired in 1980 after 30 years with the South Bend Post Office. He was born May 6, 1925, in South Bend, and lived in Rochester for 12 years.

On July 31, 1948, in South Bend, he married Elizabeth B. Farkas. She survives, with a daughter, Barbara A. Martin of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a son, James of South Bend; and three brothers, Thomas of Elkhart, Jack of Texas and Gerald of Mishawaka.

Mr. Martin was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, American Legion Post 0050 and Veterans of Foreign Wars 1343.

Graveside services will 11 a.m. Monday at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. There will be no visitation. Foster & Good Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
