Don Barth

Don Barth, 85, of Jamestown Court South, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 7:54 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 15, in Saint Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawaka.

Don was born on Sept. 20, 1916, in South Bend, Ind., as the son of the late John and Marie (Brinkman) Barth. Don was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack.

On June 13, 1941, in Bryan, Ohio, Don married the former Gertrude Thompson. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gertrude; a daughter, Paula J. Barth of Niles, Mich.; three sons, Gregg A (Anne) Barth of Zionsville, Ind., Garry L. (Debbie) Barth of Indianapolis, Ind., and Dennis J. Barth of Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Rosemary Carlstedt of Chicago, Ill.; and by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Before retiring in 1979 Don was an account executive for Ketchan Brothers and the Kenady Insurance Agency in South Bend. Don was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of (CFA) Circus Fans of America.

There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1501 W. Cleveland Road, South Bend. Don's family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service in the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Don's name to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1501 W. Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46628. The Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, is handling arrangements
