WALKERTON Services for Marie Payton, 79. of Dallas, formerly of Walkerton, who died at Friday In Brook Haven Nursing Home. Carrollton, Texas. will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home. 435 S. Ironwood Drive, South Bend. Burial will be in Porter Rae Cemetery. North Liberty. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.
Mrs. Payton was born Aug. 27, 1916. in North Liberty and lived in Walkerton until 1977.
On Dec. 24, 1937, as Marie Buchtel, she married James H. Payton. He survives with two daughters. Paula Shotts of Rochester and Jane Puff of Fort Wayne, a son, William of Carrollton; four grandchildren: a sister, Ona Lee Hartman of Walkerton; and a brother, Dale Buchtel of Mishawaka
