Donnabelle Jean (Roesch) Baumgartner

March 13, 1930 ~ April 15, 2025

Donnabelle Jean Baumgartner, 95, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Trailpoint Village, South Bend. She was born on March 13, 1930, in South Bend to Karl and Mildred (Saddison) Roesch.

Donnabelle is survived by her daughters, Sharon (James) Reimann of New Buffalo, MI; Linda Baumgartner of South Bend; and Judy Kuspa of South Bend; and her son, Paul (Tina) Thomas Baumgartner of Ortonville, MI; seventeen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and her step-siblings. Donnabelle was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Baumgartner; daughter, JoAnn Baumgartner; mother, Mildred Pape; and father, Karl Roesch.

Donnabelle enjoyed her rose garden. Reading was a lovely way to spend time. Having earned a nursing certificate in her younger years, she naturally became a caregiver to those in her family. Donnabelle was devoted to her faith. She attended St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Augustine Catholic Church, both in South Bend, IN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, April 25, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 226 N. Hill Street, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00-11:00am at the church prior to Mass. Interment of Donnabelle’s ashes will be held at a later date at Highland Cemetery. Palmer Funeral Home—Welsheimer Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
