George Bartuska Jr.

ALPINE - George Bartuska Jr., 69, died Tuesday in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M. Military graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Elm Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Geeslin Funeral Home.

He was born July 16, 1919, in Chicago, Ill.

A retired electrical engineer and sculptor, he had been teaching sculpting at Sul Ross University. He lived in South Bend, Ind., before moving to Alpine in 1980. He was a retired lieutenant colonel from the U.S. Air Force and a World War II veteran and a member of Alpine American Legion Post 79.

Survivors include his wife, Willa Bartuska of Alpine; one daughter, Judythe Robbins of Pasadena, Texas; one brother, James Bartuska of Granger, Ind.; and two grandchildren
