Roland White Carter
SHREVEPORT -Services will be conducted for Roland White Carter December 4, 1986, at 11:30 a.m., at Neath Funeral Home, Marshall Street Chapel. Burial will be at Forest Park West. Officiating will be Dr. Bobby Cook, minister of Kings Highway Christian Church, of which Mr. Carter was a member, assisted by Dr. William E. Wright, retired pastor of the church. Mr. Carter died Monday December 1, 1986, at Willis-Knighton Medical Center. Mr. Carter was born November 22, 1919 in South Bend, Indiana.
He was a graduate of Michigan University and was a geophysicist, working at United Gas Co. in Shreveport for twenty years and McMoran Freeport Oil Co. of New Orleans for eighteen years, serving in the capacity of Vice-President of both companies. He retired in 1983 and had lived since in his home on Lake Bistineau.
Survivors are his wife, Helen; a daughter, Suzy Jean, a graduate student of Indiana University; three sons, Dr. Michael Carter, Washington, D.C., William Mark Carter of League City, Texas, Stephen White Carter of Hawaii; his mother, Mrs. Hazel Carter Rudduck Vinton, Calif.; one sister, Joan Cofer of Vinton; one brother, Roy Carter, Detroit, Mich.; grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are, Dr. J.J. Elliott, J..J. Elliott, Jr., James Eakin, Barry Eakin, Thomas Watts, Mark Andrews, Joel Andrews. Family suggests that memorials may be made to Kings Highway Christian Church, Shreveport, La
