Mary M. (Riba) Balough
March 3, 1919 - July 30, 1999
Mary M. Balough, 80, of South Bend, Ind., passed away at 6 a.m. on Friday, July 30, in her residence. Mrs. Balough was born on March 3, 1919, in South Bend, to Boldie and Agnes Riba, who both preceded her in death.
On Feb. 3, 1940, in South Bend, as Mary Riba, Rudolph F. Balough, who also preceded her in death on May 26, 1993.
Mary graduated from Our Lady of Hungary Grade School and Riley High School. She was employed by Torrington in the production department and also by South Bend Toy.
She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Colwell of South Bend; a son, Richard C. Balough of Chicago, IlI.; two grandchildren, Stephen Colwell of Raleigh, N.C., and Marc Colwell of Richmond, Ind.; two great-grandchildren, Claire Colwell and Quinn Colwell; a sister, Elizabeth McLain of South Bend; and by a brother, Robert Riba of Melbourne, Fla.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 2, in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Our Lady of Hungary Church
