Betty Lou (Scott) Sandstrom
July 8, 1933 ~ March 31, 2025 91 Years Old
Betty Lou Sandstrom, a beacon of love and friendship, passed away on March 31, 2025, at the age of 91. Born in South Bend, Indiana, on July 8, 1933, Betty lived a life marked by thoughtfulness and dedication, leaving a lasting legacy in the place she always called home.
A proud graduate of Riley High School, Betty channeled her intelligent, detail-oriented nature into a successful career as a real estate broker. For over two decades, she was a cornerstone at Cressy & Everett Realty, where her friendly disposition and professional integrity earned her the trust and respect of colleagues and clients alike.
Betty married the love of her life, Dean R. Sandstrom, on July 1, 1961, in Hawthorne, Nevada. Together, they built a life filled with joy and kindness until his passing. A loving mother and grandmother, Betty leaves behind her daughter, Mary Pontius, and grandson, Zachary W. Stewart, both of South Bend, who will cherish her memory forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frieda (Peters) Scott and Frank Scott, her brothers Bob and Lionel Scott, and her beloved husband, Dean. Betty's radiant smile, her enduring warmth, and her generosity of spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Graveside services were held at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park on April 8, 2025.
