Michael McCollum

Michael McCollum, 28, residing on Ritter Avenue, South Bend, Ind., passed away early Sunday morning, Aug.15. He was born July 14, 1976, in South Bend, as the son of Peter and Diana (Bean) McCollum, and had been a lifelong resident. Michael is survived by his mother, Diana (Phil) Meyers of South Bend;his father, Peter (Christine) McCollum of South Bend;a sister, Courtney Meyers of South Bend;his maternal grandparents, Mary and Norman Bean of South Bend;paternal grandmother, Jeanette McCollum of New Carlisle, Ind.;maternal great-grandmother, Edna Mann of Ocala, Fla.;his aunt, Donna Bean of South Bend;as well as five other aunts, Paula, Kathy, Karol, Mary and Karen.

He was employed with Eagle Products of Mishawaka, Ind. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, National Hot Rod Association, and loved to ride motorcycles.

Joint services for Michael and his cousin, Christopher Manzer, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug.19, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S.Michigan St., South Bend.Rev.Ed Erskin, pastor of Northway Church of Christ, will officiate.Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m.Wednesday, Aug.18, in the Palmer Funeral Home- Guisinger Chapel.
