John Eddie Brown, Jr.

June 19, 1955 - June 21, 2025 

John Eddie Brown Jr., 70, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family and embraced in the comforting presence of his Lord and Savior. Born on June 19, 1955, in Tutwiler, Mississippi, John was a man whose life was a testament to faith, strength, and love.

John grew up rooted in the values of faith, family, and hard work, principles instilled in him by his parents, the late Eddie Brown and Johnella Brown (Weatherspoon). Their legacy lived on in John, who carried those same values throughout his life. A man of quiet dignity and deep spiritual conviction, John lived every day with a grateful heart, always giving praise to God for the blessings in his life.

To know John was to know a man who truly loved life. He had a contagious smile, a warm presence, and an unwavering belief in the goodness of people. Whether it was through a kind word, a helping hand, or a moment of prayer, John impacted the lives of many. He found joy in simple moments and strength in his relationship with the Lord. His faith was not only spoken but lived out in every interaction—gentle, humble, and sincere.

John made his home in St. Joseph County in Indiana, where he built a life filled with meaningful relationships and a strong sense of community. He was a trusted friend, a mentor to many, and a source of wisdom and comfort to those who needed it. He faced life’s trials with grace and its joys with gratitude, always trusting in God’s plan.

Though he is no longer with us in body, we take comfort in knowing that John has found peace and eternal life in the arms of his Savior. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Johnella Brown, who welcomed him into eternal rest with open arms. Though his earthly journey has ended, John’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched and in the countless lives he uplifted with his presence and prayers.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, located at 10776 McKinley Hwy, Osceola, IN. Immediately following the visitation, a Homegoing Service will be held to honor and celebrate John’s life, his faith, and the joy he brought to this world.
