Debra Jane Coffman

Debra Jane Coffman, 67 years old, passed away at 10:58 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at DMC Harper University Hospital, Detroit, MI. Debra was born on March 4, 1957 in South Bend to the late John and Phyllis Ann (Walcott) Coffman. She has been a lifelong resident of South Bend and a 1975 graduate of James Whitcomb Riley High School.
Debra is survived by her sister, Cynthia (Brian) Good of Lakeville; nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Sarah, Kevin Jr., Bryan, Brittany, Dustin, Hannah, and Bob; and great nieces and nephews, Anthony, Kenneth, Nathan, Hunter, Skyler, Kaiden, Natalie, Chloe, Aleaha, Zoey, Charlee, and Brayzlee. Debra is also survived by five great-great nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Kevin and Robert Coffman; and her special Aunt Betty Martz.
Deb worked in the transportation industry for Indiana Motor Bus and Coach USA for many years. Deb was “crafty”. She enjoyed ceramics in her younger years and more recently she enjoyed crocheting. Deb also liked to go to the nieces and nephews sporting and school events when possible. She enjoyed going to the races at South Bend Motor Speedway and especially liked the “backwards” race. Deb enjoyed watching the Hallmark channel and baking. She was best known for her Sour Cream cookies, cheesecake, and the best Christmas cookies every year.
A service celebrating the life of Deb will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 12:00 noon on Saturday.
