Kathryn J. Harrison

Kathryn J. Harrison, 72, of South Bend passed away peacefully in her residence on Wednesday, January 21, 2004. She was born in South Bend on September 9, 1931 to Absolem and Catherine (Zillebuehler) Harrison.

Kathryn retired from Valley American Bank, where she had been a manager, after 34 years of service. She had been Treasurer of the Eagles #2083 and a member of the American Legion #357. Kathryn loved to travel, dance and spend time with her family and friends. She truly loved life and tried to live each day to its fullest.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, Absolem and Catherine Harrison, by a sister, Doris Kramer and also by two brothers, Billy John Harrison and Donald Earl Harrison.

Survivors include her three brothers, Bill (Gail) Harrison of South Bend, Bob (Linda) Harrison of South Bend and Melvin Harrison of Florida; by 12 nieces, 12 nephews, 17 great-nieces, 10 great-nephews, 1 great-great-niece and 1 great-great-nephew, and by her very close special friends, Stella Moorman and Joe and Albert Bertolan.

Funeral services will be held today, January 24 at 10 a.m.in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Kathryn J. Harrison to the American Cancer Society.
