Doris J. (Anderson) Annable Lockmondy

Doris J. Annable, 72, of Monroe Street in South Bend, Ind., died at 11:34 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, in Memorial Hospital. She was born in South Bend on June 26, 1931, to Ralph and Alberta (Scott) Anderson. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ralph Anderson; a sister, Betty Jean in infancy; a son, Daniel in infancy; and by a stepson, Jeffery Annable.
Doris worked as a medical transcriptionist for Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. She served as a WWII WAC, was a member of the German Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Homemakers Club and Immanual Baptist Church. Her favorite hobby was singing in the church choir.
Doris is survived by a daughter, Debra (Danny) Smith of Elkhart, Ind.; a son, David (Sheila) Annable of South Bend; two sisters, Peggy (Ralph) Simpson of Dowagiac, Mich., and Trudie (LaVern) Hovarter of LaPaz, Ind.; one brother, Robert (Gabriele) Anderson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two grandchildren, Matthew McCavitt and Patrick (Nicole) McCavitt; one great-grandson, Dylan McCavitt; along with several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Jan. 13, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., and one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with Pastor Mike Fisher officiating. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
