Gary M. Johnsen

June 9, 1956 - July 18, 2005

Gary M. Johnsen, 49, of West 16th Place, Chicago Heights, III., formerly of South Bend, passed away at 7:45 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2005, in St. James Hospital, Chicago. Gary was born in South Bend on June 9, 1956, to Robert and Anna Rose (Dattilo) Johnsen, who have both preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his grandparents, August and Rose Dattilo, and Emma and Andrew Johnsen.

Surviving Gary are a sister, Pam (Kirk) Mikusak of South Bend; nieces, Melissa and Jennifer Kirk of South Bend; aunts, Sharon (Richard) Edsall of Elkhart, Virginia Smith of Cassopolis, Ml, and Dorothy Finneran of South Bend.

Gary worked in the construction business. He graduated from Riley High School in 1974 where he was on the golf team. He also enjoyed collecting classic cars.

Visitation will be on Saturday, July 23, from 9 to 10 a.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Road. Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 23, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 2410 N. Grape Road, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
