Margaret L (Foote) Harris

Margaret L. Harris, 87, of State Street, Huntington, Ind., died at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002, in the Miller's Merry Manor in Huntington where she had been a resident for the past eight years. Margaret was formerly from Farthington Circle, South Bend, Ind.
She was a 1933 graduate of Riley High School in South Bend.
Margaret was a homemaker who nurtured her family with her talents at cooking, baking and canning. In her later years she made hand-made knitted items for family and friends. For many years she babysat for the children of numerous South Bend families. She was born on June 19, 1915, in Hamlet, Ind., a daughter of Charles and Mabel Good Foote.
She was united in marriage to Eugene A. Harris on Sept. 1, 1934, in South Bend. He preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1967. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Hoffman on April 6, 2002.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret "Peggy" Libbey of Denver, Colo., and Connie Toschlog of Wilmington, Del.; a son, Larry Harris of Mentone, Ind.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service for Margaret on Saturday, April 26, at 11 a.m. at the St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, 375 W. Cleveland Road, Granger, Ind. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 9135 North Meridian, Suite B-4, Indianapolis, IN 46260.
