Donnabelle (Rodibaugh) Singleton

April 20, 1919 – Oct. 19, 2004

Donnabelle Singleton, 85, formerly of Champlain Drive, Niles, Mich., passed away Tuesday, Oct.19 in Community Hospice Center, Fort Worth, Texas. Donnabelle had moved to Fort Worth in 2003 from Niles. She was born on April 20, 1919, in Elkhart, Ind., to the late Ralph and Rose (Kurtz) Rodibaugh.

On Sept.21, 1940, in South Bend, she married James E.Singleton, who preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1979. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Judge Robert Rodibaugh, James Rodibaugh, and George Rodibaugh.

Donnabelle graduated from Riley High School in 1937, attended and received a degree from South Bend College of Commerce, and was active in Sigma Pi Gamma Sorority. She worked as an office manager for State Farm until she retired in 1973, and was president of Singleton Enterprises, which operated Shulas’ Night Club and Shulas’ 31 Bowl, bowling center.

She is survived by her three loving sons, Allan (Nancy) Singleton of Fort Worth, Texas, James Singleton of Phoenix, Ariz., and Richard (Catherine) Singleton of Bethesda, Md.; seven grand children, Anne Singleton, Brian (Robyn) Singleton, Jennifer (Stuart) Singleton- Odell, Jacob Singleton, Sarah (Peter) Smith, Mary (Christopher) Fifield and Adam Singleton; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary Singleton and Alexa Grace Odell.

Friends may visit with the family, from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct.25, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
