MISHAWAKA - Rose J. Andrews, 82, of Colony Court, Mishawaka, died suddenly Tuesday evening, October 6, 1998, in Saint Joseph Community Hospital.
Mrs. Andrews was born on January 23, 1916, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Cosimo J. and Lucia (Spalla) Cira, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her is her sister, Antoinette Stante.
On June 1, 1940, as the former Rose J. Cira, she married James R. Andrews, who died on January 9, 1966.
Before retiring in 1982 Mrs. Andrews was employed with South Bend Medical Foundation in the Blood Bank Division for 24 years. She is survived by her two sons, James Carl (Janice) Andrews of South Bend and Larry W. (Nora) Andrews of Monticello, Indiana. She is also survived by four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and her brother, Joseph J. Cira of South Bend.
Mrs. Andrews was a member of Saint Monica's Catholic Church, The Rosary Society of Saint Monica's, Saint Joseph Community Hospital Auxiliary, Harvest House c of Mishawaka, The Riley Lunch Bunch, A.A.R.P., The Tops Club, Medjugorje Queen of Peace, and the Padre Pio Pray Group.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 9, 1998, at Saint Monica's Catholic Church in Mishawaka, Indiana. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, Indiana. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Hickey Funeral Homes, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, Indiana, where a Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Monica's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, Indiana.
