Rose E. (Mariottini) Krasean

Manistee -- Rose E. (Mariottini) Krasean, 75, of Manistee, who lived in Battle Creek for 15 years, died Friday, Aug. 28, 1992, at home. Mrs. Krasean was born Sept. 16, 1916, in Pittsfield, Mass., to Guido and Mary (Finotti) Mariottini.

She married William Krasean on Nov. 25, 1937, in St. Matthew's Catholic Church in South Bend, Ind. They lived in Battle Creek from 1951 to 1966 while he was vice president/treasurer of Wolverine Insurance Group. They moved to Manistee in 1982 from Indianapolis. She was a communicant of Guardian Angels Catholic Church and a member of the Lakeshore Women's Club, both in Manistee. She enjoyed reading, ceramics and needlework.

In addition to her husband, surviving are a daughter, Mary Simmons of Gladstone; sons, Thomas Krasean of Indianapolis and William Krasean Jr. of Kalamazoo; seven grandchildren; a brother, Armando Mariottini of South Bend, Ind.; and a sister, Alice Wiand of South Bend, Ind.

Services: Cremation has taken place. A memorial Mass is set for 10 a.m. Friday in Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Manistee, with Msgr. Gerard F. Guzikowski celebrating. Memorials: American Cancer Society. Arrangements: Herbert Funeral Home, Manistee.
