Edward M. Norris

Edward M. Norris, age 83, a resident of Dripping Springs, Texas, was called to his eternal home of our Savior on Thursday, October 1, 1998. He was born in South Bend, Indiana in 1915. Ed was associated with St. Edward's University from 1945 to 1985, as a student, professor, coach, athletic director, and Dean of Men. He was a great ambassador for St. Edward's and for athletics. Ed and his wife, Mary moved to a ranch in Dripping Springs upon his retirement. Ed and Mary were married for 57 years and produced five children.

Ed loved his family and was active in the Catholic Church. Edward is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Michael Norris, and wife, Denise, John Norris, and wife, Donna, Ann Schubert, and husband, Jim, Charlotte Frame, and husband, David; grandchildren, Sean, Michael and K.C. McAdam, John, Christopher and Amanda Norris, David, Edward and Douglas Frame; and brother, Gene Norris.

Ed was a character. He lived life with vigor and a sense of humor. He was a man of strong moral and ethical fiber. God gave us a gift we will keep in our hearts forever.

Rosary will be recited Sunday, October 4, 1998, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, Ranch Road 12 in Dripping Springs. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 5, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Harrell Funeral Home in Austin
