Services for Dan F. Weltzien, 71, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of South Bend, who died at 6:45 p.m. Friday in Memorial Hospital at Jacksonville, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger. Burial will follow. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood Drive.
He was a World War II veteran. Mr. Weltzien retired as a regional recovery manager of Associates, Investment Corp., following 40 years of service. He was born on Oct. 23, 1916, in South Bend and had lived in the area for many years.
On June 2, 1937, in South Bend, he married Dora Baldwin. She survives along with two sons, Gary Dan of Cincinnati and Jeffrey Lee of Neptune Beach, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
