BREMEN — Lester R. Boocher. 83, of Bremen, died of natural causes at 8:31 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, 2002 at his home. Lester was born in Bremen on Aug. 4, 1919 to Daniel F. and Grace (Green) Boocher, Sr. He was married to Doris E. (Matz) Boocher who preceded him in death.

He was a lifelong area resident, attending Oliver School and was a graduate of Riley High School in South Bend.

Lester worked at Studebaker in South Bend until it closed and then worked for McCormick and TV Tithe in Bremen until his retirement. He belonged to the AFL Union at Studebaker and was a member and past president of the Bremen Conservation Society.

Surviving are two sons. Marc L. (Barbara) Boocher of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Paul R. (Mary) Boocher of Plymouth, Wis.; two brothers, Delbert and Robert Boocher of Bremen; two sisters, Genevieve Couch of Gaylesville. Ala.. and LaVone Steele of South Bend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris; a daughter. Sharon Kay; and a brother, Daniel F. Jr.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday. Dec. 13, 2002 at Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. Father Robert Dombrowski officiated. Burial followed in the Bremen Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002 at the funeral home.
